Charity drive by NMS-DPS students

Manama : New Millennium School – DPS believe in ‘charity’ as a part of its daily mantra. Every year, the funds collected through various school activities are donated to charity organizations in the Kingdom.

With an objective to develop an understanding towards the society and its needs, the students of New Millennium school-DPS undertook a charity drive by cash donation to two of the prominent organizations engaged in community services in the Kingdom.

The fund was raised through NMMUN (New Millennium Model United Nations Conference, 2016).

An amount of BD  400  was donated to Migrant Workers Protection Society (MWPS) – an organization dedicated to the rights of expatriate worker community. Ms. Alka Srivastava  (MWPS- Treasurer) received the donation  in an event organized in the school campus on  Thursday. 

A cheque amounting BD  150   was handed over to “SNEHA” – a flagship and dream project run by Indian Ladies Association (ILA), aimed at bringing out the hidden talents of children with special needs. Ms. Sarada Ajith (SNEHA Coordinator), Ms. Sangeeta Agarwal (SNEHA Coordinator) and  Ms. Nalini Vipin (SNEHA volunteer) collected the cheque in an event organized in the school campus on Thursday. 

Dr. Ravi Pillai, Chairman, Mrs. Geetha Pillai, Managing Director & Mr. Arun Kuumar Sharma Principal appreciated the students for their noble gesture and thanked both the  parents and the teachers for their efforts in inculcating values and  sense of social responsibility among students.
