Two firms shut down for fake documents
Manama : The authorities yesterday closed down two companies for faking official documents.
“Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry wrote off the company’s commercial registration (CR) that belonged to a lawyer and did the same with another company for submitting fake documents through CR Portal 'Sijilat',” the Ministry announced.
The ministry explained that its Companies’ Control Directorate and audit offices monitored the situation and proved the documents were fake.
“Administrative and legal measures were taken and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution,” the ministry affirmed.
The ministry commended the continuous cooperation between the ministry and businesses which help to protect the market and create a sustainable investment climate. At the same time, the ministry warned of using fake documents to obtain any of the services provided by it.
A similar decision to shutdown a local company’s outlet for presenting fake documents was taken in November. The ministry stated back then that the involved individuals were referred to the judicial authorities.
