Wakame gallops to glory
Manama : Outsider Wakame owned by Abdulla Fawzi, trained by Fawzi Nass and ridden by Darren Williams won the fifth race by a length for the Minister of Youth and Sports Cup for imported handicap (0-80) three years and upwards over 1,600 metres and worth BD2.500 yesterday at the twelth meeting of the season at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club in Sakhir.
This was one of five Minister of Youth and Sports Cup races in the eight-race meeting.
Second place went to third favourite Allergic Reaction owned by Shaikh Sultan Aldeen bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, trained by Allan Smith and ridden by Brett Doyle, followed in third a further length and quarter behind by Mayo Lad owned by Al Afoo Riding Stable, trained by Hussain Aldailami and ridden by Gerald Avranche, with fourth place going to the favourite Equivalent trained by Nasser Ali Nasser Almoamen, trained by Osama Hashim and ridden by Abdulla Faisal a further length and a half behind.
