Two Bahraini rioters get 15 years in jail
Manama : Two Bahraini defendants implicated in a bombing incident in A’ali have been handed down 15 years’ imprisonment each. The High Criminal Court issued the verdict of the explosion that occurred in August 29, 2013.
According the case, the first defendant constructed the bomb and he hid it on a farm in A’ali. He along with his co-defendant decided to detonate it during a riot in the same area. As planned, rioters draw the attention of police officers to the area by attacking them with firebombs during the sabotage act.
The explosive was triggered remotely by the first defendant, who called to the phone connected with the bomb. The explosion damaged a patrol car.
The duo had been charged with detonating a bomb, causing damage to a public property and participating in an illegal gathering.
