Ministry to take over ownership of open spaces in Bahrain
Manama : Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf said the ministry will address the competent authorities to issue the necessary documentation to transfer the title deeds - i.e. ownership - of open spaces in Hamad Town to the ministry.
This procedure will be the first step to invest these open spaces to create football playgrounds for the inhabitants, said the minister.
The ministry earlier received suggestion of the Northern Area Municipal Council in this respect and was in the process of transforming this suggestion to reality to serve the area citizens, he affirmed.
These remarks came during the minister's field tour to the Northern Area's 11th constituency accompanied with ministry officials, and in the presence of Northern Area Municipality chairman, Mohammed Khalifa Bu Hammoud.
The minister also said that the ministry will rehabilitate the sewerage treatment plant off Roundabout 22 within two weeks.
