Arab unity: Bahrain to the fore to defy challenges

Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday reiterated Bahrain’s support to all efforts and steps to strengthen pan-Arab joint action. HM the King highlighted the importance of unifying pan-Arab stances to tackle crucial issues and stave off challenges. 

King Hamad was speaking in a meeting with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit, who is on a visit to Bahrain, at Al Safriya Palace yesterday.

During the meeting, he hailed the dedicated efforts of the Arab-League Chief and the staff to enhance the work mechanisms of the Arab League, strengthen Arab solidarity, defend Arab causes and achieve the aspirations of the Arab people.

HM the King stressed Bahrain’s stance, backing all initiatives and efforts to serve the Arab nations, strengthen their unity and maintain their security and stability. “The current situation unfolding in the region requires unity, solidarity and joint work to confront all challenges,” His Majesty commented as he discussed developments in the Arab region with Gheit.

Gheit briefed King Hamad on the role and efforts exerted by the Arab-League to unify stances between all Arab countries. He thanked HM the King, hailing Bahrain’s honourable stances and support to the Arab-League to continue its role in serving the Arab nation and consolidating pan-Arab solidarity.
