100 abandoned vehicles removed from Salmabad
Manama : Around 100 abandoned vehicles were removed from Salamabad Industrial Area in the past two days, the authorities informed.
This was announced by Northern Area General Director Yousif Al Ghatam, who recently announced the launch of a comprehensive campaign to remove abandoned vehicles from the Northern Governorate.
The official said that the violating vehicles were removed in cooperation with the General Directorate of Traffic.
“Around eight winches were utilised in the process,” Al Ghatam added.
He stressed that violators would be subjected to fines up to BD100, in addition to daily fines of BD1 until the violations are rectified.
Al Ghatam stated earlier this month that “Violators were given a notice and a certain period of time to remove their vehicles.”
His statements came after 1,000 abandoned vehicles were detected in different areas of the Northern Governorate in the first six months of 2016.
