5,710 expats to be deported
Manama : A total of 5,710 expatriates will be deported from the Kingdom for violating residency rules.
The figure includes 351 illegal workers who were arrested during inspection campaigns.
The Nationality, Passport and Residence Affairs (NPRA) has finalised the deportation paperwork in this regard.
The inspection campaign was launched as per the directives of the Interior Ministry Undersecretary for NPRA in cooperation with concerned authorities, said Assistant Undersecretary of Ports, Search and Follow Up.
He said that citizens should cooperate with the NPRA and other government organisations by avoiding employment of illegal workers.
He urged people to report illegal worker cases to the Search and Follow Up Directorate or police stations.
