New walkway opened in Hamad Town

ManamaA new  walkway project was inaugurated by Works Ministry’s Undersecretary for Municipalities Affairs Dr. Nabil Mohammed Abu Al Fath at Roundabout 13 in Hamad Town yesterday.

Al Fath explained that the Walkway project cost reached about BD221,000 and covers an area of 9276 square metre.

The project located at Block 1211 is one of the important recreational and sports projects in Hamad Town, the Undersecretary confirmed. 

He pointed out that this serves the citizens and residents of the area and is a part of the ministry’s strategy to develop more green areas in the Kingdom.

He added the project also includes a children’s play area, a variety of entertainment outlets, a shaded family section, a number of service buildings and many palm trees and other plants.”

The Undersecretary said the ministry is keen to develop its public facilities and services for the community’s needs, explaining that the parks comes in the ministry’s strategy to integrate people with special needs by providing their own entertainment games.

He noted that the ministry’s implementation of walkways for municipal projects comes as a high priority within urban planning requirements because of its role in providing sports and recreational areas for citizens and residents.

Assistant Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs Raed Al Salah, Northern Municipality Director General Yusuf Al Ghatam, Chairman of the Northern Municipal Council, Mohammed Khalifa Bu Hammood and a number of municipal officials attended the ceremony.
