HM King to leave for Turkey today
Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will leave for Turkey today at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Royal Court said in a statement yesterday. HM King Hamad will hold talks with President Erdogan on solid Bahraini-Turkish relations. “The two leaders will also discuss the latest regional and global developments, as well as issues of common interest,” it added. Meanwhile, Turkish Ambassador to Bahrain Hatun Demirer said His Majesty the King’s visit is vital for Turkey as the nation is going through difficult times. Hailing the visit, Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi said “it represents an important step to consolidate strategic relations based on mutual respect, religious and cultural links.” Recalling HM the King’s visit to Ankara in August 2008, the minister said it was a major boost to bolster political, economic, trade, cultural and security relations.
