Sanabis School to reopen next month

Manama : Sanabis Primary Girls’ School will reopen and receive students next month. Maintenance work to revamp the school is in full swing and will conclude on September 14, informed  authorities yesterday.

The previously shutdown school  had created a wave of public outrage due to its dilapidated buildings, forcing the Education Ministry to permanently close the school. This decision was however not welcomed by teachers, parents and students of the school,  who pleaded to Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to end their plight.

A few weeks later, the Premier instructed to swiftly revamp the school so as to receive students by the beginning of the upcoming school year. Furthermore, the Prime Minister personally visited the school to enquire about its condition and requirements.

Education Ministry said it had received an official correspondence confirming the date. The ministry stated that it would reopen the school after the necessary formalities are completed.

Education Minister Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi yesterday expressed gratitude to the Premier for instructing the concerned authorities to fast-track the school revamping.

“As a result of the Premier’s directives, the students can return to their school instead of joining other establishments”, Dr. Al Nuaimi said, hailing the Premier’s support to the educational system.
