Duo gets jail for attacking cops
Manama : The Supreme Appeals Court has upheld the jail sentences of two defendants, who were accused of attacking police officers during a riot. The duo were earlier given 15 years behind bars each.
According to the case, the defendants were among the protesters, who used iron rods, stones and firebombs to assault police officers stationed in Daih.
A police officer sustained injures in the attack. He had to undergo a surgery to remove foreign objects from his face.
The injured police officer had told the court earlier that the culprits fired nails and other objects at them using fire extinguishers.
