Bahraini and Russian gets jail for selling sex tools
Manama : The Lower Criminal Court sentenced a Russian woman and a Bahraini man to six months in prison for selling sex tools on Instagram.
The duo was arrested after the cops received a tip-off about their Instagram page, which also contained several obscene images. Investigators found that the page was managed by a 24-year-old Russian woman, who received assistance from her 28-year-old Bahraini friend. He delivered the products to customers.
The woman was nabbed in a sting operation after an undercover officer lured her into selling some products. The cops pounced on her as soon as the transaction was completed.
However, the Bahraini man denied his involvement in the crime. “I didn’t know about her activities, though she occasionally asked me to pick some packages containing cosmetics. She told me that she was planning to launch a new cosmetic shop,” he told the police officers.
