Majestic Cars will look to maintain their momentum and seal an early berth in the next stage when they face Al Nawayef.

Al Nawayef has one point after their thrilling draw with Forever. A win against Majestic Cars will allow them to hope high given the fact that they will be facing under-performers Al Museef in their final match in the group stage.  Forever, on the other hand, will be eyeing a victory against Al Museef.

Yousif , Esra win best player award

Ex Bahrain International player Talal Yousif won the best player of the match award owing to his contribution to his team Batelco Gunners United in their match against Al Zilzal.  Syrian Esra Amer of Fiesta was also given this award following his top performance against Al Suqoor. The awards were sponsored by Viva.

Gunners United in control

Gunners United were the better side in the first half, although they weren’t able to convert their superior ball possession into chances on the opposing team’s goal. Al Zilzal, on the other hand, awaited Gunners United in their half, and were ready to pounce on the counter.

Al Zilzal was reduced to ten men when Mohammed Sa’ad was sent off in the 49th minute for two bookable offences.  Gunners United saw their first real opportunity two minutes later with Diego’s header bouncing from the right post. Despite playing one man down, Al Zilzal succeeded with closing all the spaces in the back, while the opposing team were unable to exploit the situation.  Gunners United’s Diego fumbled another good opportunity in the 84th minute as he failed to slot him his teammate Abdullah Al Nobi’s great assist. Al Zilzal owed to their goalkeeper Rasheed Al Bukhari keeping the score at 0-0 after making a great save on Hassan Abdulredah’s effort from far range.

Fiesta thump Al Suqoor to go top

Fiesta took top position in Group 4 after their 4-2 thumping victory over Al Suqoor. Syrian professional footballer Esra Amer Hamuwya fired Fiesta to their resounding victory after scoring a hat-trick, the first in the tournament, and he also achieved the best player of the match award in the process.

Al Suqoor, on the other hand in a valiant effort, came from 3-0 behind to 3-2 thanks to goals from Ali Jaffar (68) and Hussain Ibrahim (87) to give the match a thrilling ending. But hat-trick hero Hamuwya sealed the victory with a goal in the dying minutes.
