HM King lauds ties between Health Ministry and IAPB

Manama : His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa praised the existing cooperation between Bahrain’s Health Ministry and the Regional Office of International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), hailing the achievements of the latter and its efforts to provide health care for the blind.

HM the King also voiced pride in the depth of the long-standing Bahraini-Saudi relations as he received Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at Al Sakhir Palace yesterday.

Prince Abdulaziz is on a visit to the Kingdom to participate in the 13th International Congress of the Middle East-Africa Council of Ophthalmology (MEACO). He is MEACO’s Board of Directors Chairman and member of the Board of Trustees of the IAPB.

HM the King commended the humanitarian efforts exerted by Prince Abdulaziz in combating visual disability, and praised the voluntary services he provides through his chairmanship of the Regional Office of the IAPB.

He also affirmed the crucial role played by Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to defend Arab and Islamic issues at all regional, Arab and international gatherings.

Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.

Prince Abdulaziz thanked HM the King for his interest in the initiatives of IAPB Regional Office. He also briefed HM the King about the 13th MEACO Congress.  He lauded the distinguished Bahraini-Saudi relations, which, he said, enjoy the constant support of the two countries’ monarchs.
