Huawei exhibits ICT innovations

Manama: Huawei showcased its latest ICT innovations, designed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Bahrain’s new airport, to top airline companies, international contractors and technology providers at the Bahrain International Airport Development Forum 2016 (BIADF) held on April 13 and 14.

The two-day forum brought together leading companies to display emerging technologies, products and services that can support the Kingdom’s ongoing airport development project. In particular, the airport expansion plan is investing in paramount solutions from international technology providers to augment overall traveller experience.

Huawei experts at the BIADF demonstrated the new ICT solutions for airport development. The advanced technologies underline Huawei’s eLTE Broadband Trunking Systems for voice dispatch and video uploading for critical communication.

A complete portfolio of solutions featuring surveillance, broadband ground handling and cloud based data centers from Huawei are set to provide an end-to-end implementation covering all aspects of air freight movements, asset management, servers and storage capacity. Together the company aims to foster an open and collaborative network of partners, driving the development of integrated industry solutions.

“International airports across the world are adapting to the world’s demand for real-time interconnectivity, enhancing the travellers’ experience and the efficiency of operations,” commented Norman Frisch, Chairman of the eLTE Industry Alliance and Marketing Director of Enterprise Business Group at Huawei Technologies. “We are thrilled to join BIADF to advance a vision that meets the Kingdom’s future ambitions, and demonstrate how efficient and flexible new ICT systems can advance Bahrain’s accessibility.”

At the Forum, Huawei Technologies Chairman of the eLTE Industry Alliance and Marketing Director of Enterprise Business Group and Transport Sector, Norman Frisch, headed a panel discussion entitled “Leading New ICT, Operating a Better Connected Airport”.
