UAE legend singer to perform at Arad Fort

Renowned Emirati singer Hussain Al Jassmi will perform at Arad Fort on March 13 as part of the ongoing 10th Spring of Culture. It is one of the largest events in Bahrain, featuring performances by renowned international artistes.

Al Jassmi, known for his evocative music, initially started performing with his brothers in the UAE band, “The Gulf Band,” which became a massive hit in the UAE.

Later, he participated in a talent show at the Dubai Shopping Festival, in which he won the first place. It led to his signing of a record deal with Rotana Company and Jassmi produced his first album Al Jassmi 2002. He then took part in various music festivals and concerts.

Bringing in the UAE’s unique music to the Middle East, the Emirati star has also been successful in performing in both the Egyptian and Moroccan dialects, showcasing a wide range of music and expanding his reach to the wider Arab region.

Al Jassmi also contributed to movies and TV series through the provision of a number of opening themes to famous dramas and movies.

Al Jassmi has been recognised for his contributions to the music industry and has won a number of awards, including ART Festival’s Music Creativity Award in 2007, Best Arab Singer 2007 at the Murex Festival and the award for distinct singing (Arab world) in 2009 during a ceremony held by the United Nations to mark International Youth Day.

The Spring of Culture Festival, being held between March and April, is organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities in collaboration with the Economic Development Board (EDB), Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research, Al Bareh Art Gallery, Al Riwaq Art Space and La Fontaine Centre.
