India airport detain Saudi-bound passenger with gun

Riyadh : Security personnel at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the Indian capital, New Delhi, held a Riyadh-bound passenger for possessing a country-made pistol, which is a forbidden item.

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, who provide security at IGIA, seized the country-made pistol from the passenger who came to board Saudi Airlines flight SV-761 Tuesday afternoon, airport sources said.

The sources further revealed that an alert CISF agent, Jitender Kumar, doing his duty at the screening point at the international Terminal 3, detected the pistol in his luggage.

Moreover, the passenger failed to furnish valid documents to support being in possession of the pistol.

The CISF personnel, according to Indian media, handed over the passenger to the IGIA police station, where a case has been registered against him under the Arms Act.
