Two jailed in Bahrain for possessing explosives

Chief of Anti-terror Crime Prosecution, Advocate General Ahmed Al Hammadi, today confirmed that the High Criminal Court had sentenced one individual to three years in prison and another to ten years in prison for acquiring and possessing explosives.

The individuals were arrested at a disturbance on 2 April 2015, where the suspects were involved in rioting and violently attacking policemen.

Al Hammadi confirmed that one police officer suffered severe burns during the incident, whilst another sustained head injuries.

The Advocate General stated that during the presentation of the prosecution and defence cases, the court heard from a number of witnesses and was presented with photographic evidence of the incident.
