Man jailed for 5 years for theft

A Bahraini man has been jailed for five years in connection with a theft case.

The 26-year-old accused is said to have stolen two wallets from a car and he managed to withdraw BD140 by using a credit card.

The defendant and the car-owner were in the same building and the latter parked his vehicle behind the former’s car. The accused found the wallets inside the victim’s car when he tried to move it in order to reverse his car while leaving.

“I couldn’t find a proper parking lot, so I left my car behind a vehicle and I gave the key to the doorkeeper. I requested him to move my car when the owner of the other vehicle comes,” the victim said.

However, the next day the victim found out that the two wallets were missing.

“When I tried to start the engine I saw the wallets. I took them before moving the car,” the defendant confessed.
