Ousted board members seek legal assistance

Two terminated Pakistan School Board members have decided to seek legal support as they claim that their removal was illegal and against the school constitution.

Chaudhry Rafaqat Hussain and Ejaz Yousaf were terminated last month, citing violation of school constitution.

Speaking to the DT News, Yousaf said the constitution does not permit the termination of any elected board member, adding that they have full faith in the justice system of Bahrain.

Meanwhile, Board Chairman Qari Sami ur Rehman told  DT News that the disqualification was not from their side but from the Parents’ Council. But he did not explain which constitutional clause was violated by the terminated members.

Rehman also dismissed allegations that the terminated members were denied entry to the school, adding that no parent could be stopped from entering the school.

According to the 2006 constitution, there was a strict monitoring system  in the school, where the community people were nominated and the embassy had very effective role in the affairs of the school.

But in the new constitution, the ambassador’s role has been restricted to moral lectures.

The Pakistani community is expecting new ambassador Javed Malik  to mediate between the two sides and solve the issue before things get worse and out of control.
