Egyptian singer to challenge court ban to visit Kuwait

Egyptian singer Angham said that she would question a court ruling that has banned her from entering Kuwait.

Angham was supposed to visit Kuwait for a musical concert as part of the February Festival.

She was reportedly married to Kuwaiti musician Fahd Mohammed Al-Shalabi in 2007 and had a son Abdulrahman, but they got divorced after three years.

Her ex-mother-in-law filed a case against the singer, for refusing to let her see Abdulrahman, staying with her in Egypt.

The court ordered the singer to be arrested immediately on entering Kuwait, reported Arabic daily Al-Jazirah.

However, Angham wrote on her Instagram account following the ruling: “I would like to reassure all those who asked after me that I will travel to Kuwait to stage the concert. I am ready for any legal measure on my arrival because I respect the law”.

The singer had also refused to comply with a court verdict, that ordered her to allow her ex-husband to see his son.
