Foreign minister attends anti-Daesh Coalition meeting

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al- Khalifa took part at the Global Coalition to Counter-Daesh Meeting held in Rome, in the Republic of Italy to review the progress that have been made by the coalition to date and discussed ways and means to ensure synchronization and unity of the effort to eradicate and ultimately defeat this terrorist organization in Iraq and Syria.

Shaikh Khalid warned of the real threat posed by terrorist organizations and sectarian militias groups to the region as they become out of control. He stressed the dire need to consolidate the coalition efforts to address the atrocities and crimes to safeguard the sovereignty and independence of countries in the region and their security and safety.

Shaikh Khalid reaffirmed Bahrain’s unwavering support and contribution to the international community’s efforts to eliminate Daesh criminal gangs and its brutal atrocities that contravene religious teachings and humane principles.

He highlighted Bahrain’s efforts in combating financing terrorism at regional and international levels as it is one of the most effective means in defeating this plaque.

He pointed out that this meeting is convened for coordination and consultation among the partners of the global coalition to appraise and assess the efforts exerted by the coalition to address the challenges posed by Daesh, to exchange views on the viable mechanisms in order to orchestrate and streamline the coordination among partners, and to increase the efficiency of the coalition in order to eradicate and defeat Daesh.
