Deputy Premier, officials see off Tunisian President

Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa alongside with Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Muharraq Governor Salman Isa Bin Hindi, who is the Head of the Mission of Honour, Tunisia’s Ambassador to Bahrain Mohammed Bin Yousef; and senior government officials saw off Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi following the conclusion of his official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain yesterday.

The Tunisian President held talks with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, touching on the bilateral ties as well as regional and Arab issues of common concern.

HM King Hamad and Essebsi attended the signing of the cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday.

During his meeting with HM the King, President Essebsi expressed his country’s admiration for Bahrain’s moderation and openness, noting that Tunisian was trying to be a moderate country.

He said that his visit was within the framework of the good relations binding the two countries.

HM King Hamad bestowed on the Tunisian President the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Medal of the Excellent Class in appreciation of his support to efforts to bolster bilateral cooperation. President Essebsi also conferred on HM the King the Order of the Republic of the First Class in appreciation of His Majesty’s efforts to enhance bilateral relations in various fields.
