BIKC all set for karting

Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) hosts another exciting edition of the 2015/2016 Bahrain Karting Sprint Championship (BKSC) tomorrow in Sakhir.

Talented karters from Bahrain and all over the world battle it out in two separate series falling under the BKSC - the Bahrain Rotax Mojo Max Challenge (BRMMC) and the Bahrain SWS Sprint Championship (SSWS).

The BRMMC is a competition for Rotax kart owners and is staging its second round, while the SSWS is an arrive-and-drive category and is into the fourth round.

SSWS gives karters of all skill levels a chance to compete in a fun yet professionally run event in identical RT9 Sodikarts and open to all interested participants aged 16 years old and above, both men and women of any nationality and experience.

Tomorrrow’s action is scheduled to begin at 3pm with the BRMMC’s karters first out onto the BIKC track for a 20-minute free practice.

Qualifying follows at 3.25pm for the SSWS and at 3.45pm for the BRMMC.

Race One for the SSWS is at 4.10pm and for the BRMMC at4.40pm. Race Two for the SSWS challengers will be at 5.10pm, and for the BRMMC at 5.40pm, with the podium ceremony following at around 6,15pm.

Heading into the meeting, three of the Kingdom’s most talented karters will be looking to maintain their leads in their respective championship categories.

In the BRMMC’s Rotax Max/Max Masters class, Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa (50 points) leads, while Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Hussain Hasan (36) are in tied second place.

In the Junior Max class, Zaid Audih (50) occupies top spot followed by Talal Beshara (40).

In the SSWS standings, Abdulla Buhindi (115) leadsafter three rounds, with Khalid Alsaie (108) a close second and Mohammed Mattar (101) in third.

All are welcome to attend and watch the karters battling each other which is organised by BIKC and Bahrain International Circuit, in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation.

Following tomorrow’s meeting the next round of the BKSC is in February.
