Consumer protection highlighted

The Ministry of Education (MOE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism (MOICT)'s Consumer Protection Directorate, hosted a public awareness lecture themed "Consumer Protection Law".

The lecture was presented by Sinan Ali Al Jabri, the Director of Consumer Protection Directorate in the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, in the Bahraini-Saudi Institute for the Blind's in Isa Town.

The lecture focused on consumer enlightenment about the culture of rights and obligations according to the legal frames established by Law 35/2012 and its executive code issued by Ministerial Resolution 66/2014 that ensure the protection of consumers against commercial fraud or deception.

He urged to confront any violations, excesses or infringement on the rights of consumer as prescribed in the Consumer Protection Law, and in contrast the consumer's abidance with his obligations.

The lecturer outlined the concept of consumer protection, the mission of Consumer Protection Directorate and its duties, the phases of its development and its sections, the Consumer Protection Law, and the duties of consumer protection service providers.
