NMS –DPS conducts social science workshop

New Millennium School- DPS, organised a workshop, ‘Enriching Social Science’, on 28th April, as part of a series of workshops by the Bahrain Chapter of Council of CBSE affiliated Schools in the Gulf. 

Teachers from all the CBSE affiliated schools in Bahrain attended the workshop. The resource person, Meenakshi Mathur, HOD Social Science, laid importance on developing analytical and conceptual skills of the learners to enable them to understand the environment with emphasis on the interrelationship between the natural and social environment.

The session highlighted the challenges faced in terms of understanding the importance of Social Science, the importance of sensitizing children towards social issues, developing the skill of observation and different types of questions for assessing the learning. 

The interactive session focused on the various strategies used for making teaching-learning of Social Science more interactive and interesting for learners where teachers shared their views and experiences on the same.

The workshop also focussed on the advantages of the interdisciplinary approach to making teaching-learning more interesting and productive.
