On a unique mission

Manama : Eighteen topper students of Sastra Pratibha Contest (SPC) 2017, from Bahrain CBSE curriculum schools got a lifetime opportunity when they went to “SASTRAYAAN 2018 – Science Educational trip. 

The trip organised by Science India Forum (SIF) Bahrain and supported by Indian Embassy and National Science Movement of India (Vijnana Bharati) was held from 30 Jan to 03 Feb 2018 to Chennai and Andra Pradesh in India.

The total team was 35 member that includes Sastra Pratibhas, Parents,  SIF Volunteers and National Science Movement Representatives.

The three-day tour included visits to Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC) and Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) Sriharikotta, Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre (TNSTC) and Birla Planetarium.

According to the team members, the visit to the Rocket Launching Pad in Sriharikotta and the interactive sessions with scientists at the center were proud moments of their life. The students were allowed to practically live the theoretical scientific concepts by visiting CSIR laboratories and participating in mini-science projects. Science has played a very important role in changing their lives.

Competitive exams are organised every year by SIF Bahrain since 2013 in Bahrain to spot the young talents and SIF Bahrain plays a voluntary role in nurturing them to become promising future scientists. The Sastra Pratibha Contest (SPC) 2018 is scheduled on 31 May 2018 and is expected that more than 10, 000 students from 8 schools shall participate without paying any fees.
