Spartans emerge BIS champions

Bahrain Indian School (BIS) conducted its second Annual Sports Meet on December 3, 2015 at the Rugby Club, Saar. Chief Guest of the event was Himanshu Verma, who opened the meet by hoisting flag. The events started with Bahrain National Anthem followed by an ‘Olympic’ torch relay.

Warriors remained as the runner-up in march-past held, while Spartans clinched the rolling trophy for 2015. The march-past began with oath taking by sports captain Yuva. School Cabinet leaders escorted the
march-past.

KG students gave the event a sparkling start with their lovely dragon dance and Fan dance. Equally engaging and thrilling was the Yoga display and the colourful drill by grade I and II which followed the dance.  As the students’ wild cheers rent the air, the athletes, with grit and determination, raced to achieve victory and glory for their respective houses.

Gladiator’s house missed the Champion House trophy by a slim margin yet were delighted enough to win the runners up title. Thus the day’s ultimate joy came to the Spartan’s House that seized the much coveted Champion House trophy.

It was exhilarating when the BIS students’ voice cut through the air as they proudly sang the Indian National Anthem. Sports Meet was declared close following the lowering of the flag.
