A classical treat for Bahrain music lovers!

South Indian classical music lovers in Bahrain are in for a treat tonight at a concert being organised by the Indian Fine Arts Society.

The event titled 'Dhwani' will feature Vidwan Srikrishna Mohan and Vidwan Ramkumar Mohan, who are young Carnatic vocalists, popularly known as Trichur Brothers.

They are sons of Senior Mridanga Vidwan Shri Trichur R Mohan and belong to the 'Sitaram Group', a traditional business family based in Trichur, Kerala.

The duo are regular performers in various parts of the world.

"Trichur Brothers are noted for their strict adherence to Patanthara and uncompromising attitude towards Bhavam," says their website. "They also adopt a unique style for alapana, where both exchange phrase after phrase, long and short, and participate equally in exploring a raga. Many well known critics have pointed that this is a unique and effective manner of raga delineation and that it is hitherto never attempted by any duo singers."

The concert will be held at the Bahrain Society of Engineers, in Juffair from 7.15pm onwards and Indian Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha will be the chief guest.

The event is open to all.
