Manama

For the first time in the Kingdom, the Education Ministry has launched a project for the integration of hearing impaired students in high school.

Minister of Education Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi launched the project during his visit to Isa Town Secondary School for Boys and Noor Secondary School for Girls, where he attended part of class sessions. Each class was being held by two teachers, of which one communicates verbally and the other translates the lectures through sign language, which ensures the active interaction of teachers with students.

There will also be developed guidelines and awareness lectures on how to deal with hearing impaired students in different parts of the school, he confirmed.

The Minister also takes into account the continuous assessment conditions and final exams for these students. He confirmed the success of the integration project as it is applied in 61 schools with means of support of necessary policy.
