Heritage sports winners hailed

Top three winners of the Heritage Knight Competition was given a reception at Safriya Palace by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Heritage Knight Competition is a major competition organised under the supervision of the Popular Heritage Sports Committee.

Ahmed Ma’youf Al Romaihi was crowned as Knight of Popular Heritage, Mansour Ali Al Khaldi came second and Nawaf Hassan Al Ka’bi ranked third after a protracted athletic competition spanning more than 24 hours. Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Qa’ood, Chairman of the Popular Heritage Sports Committee a subsidiary of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), hailed His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the Royal patronage of Popular Heritage Sports.

“Bahrain has become the region’s leading nation in heritage sports thanks to the Royal patronage of His Majesty the King,” Al Qa’ood said. He added that this Royal support enhances the efforts to develop the popular heritage sports in Bahrain in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.
