Art carnival to raise funds for expat workers’ welfare

A record number of children will be participating in the art carnival ‘Spectra 2018’ organised by the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) under the patronage of the Indian Embassy. ‘Faber Castell Spectra 2018’, the largest art competition for students in the Kingdom, will be held on Friday, December 14 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. This year as many as 5,000 children from various schools in Bahrain are expected to participate in the competition after being selected in the preliminary rounds organised in their respective schools.

The event is set to begin at 7.30 am and complete by 4.30 pm. The results will be announced the same day in a finale function starting at 5.00 pm just after the drawing competition at Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. Participants are divided into four age groups: five to eight years, eight to eleven years, eleven to fourteen years and fourteen to eighteen years. This year an adult category competition for participants above 18 years is included.

This year around 30 schools are participating including the Indian School, which will send 1,500 students. The winning entries and other outstanding creations by the children will figure in the Wall Calendars and Desk-Top Calendars designed for the year 2019. These Calendars will be launched this month at the Finale function by Indian Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha.
