Researcher seeks private-public partnership to boost innovation

A leading researcher has highlighted the need to boost private-public partnership to boost innovation, which in turn help the economy flourish. Engineer Marjan Modara, who is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Knowledge and Innovation Management at the Bangkok University, made these remarks while making a presentation at the FinTech Bay.

A speaker and mentor to the younger generation, Ms Marjan said innovation requires the right environment, which should be provided by the public and private sectors. “My research examines the elements that could contribute towards the development of a knowledge economy. As suggested by the World Bank and various OECD reports, the pillars to form the knowledge economy are education and training, innovation and technological adoption, the information and communication infrastructure, and a conducive economic incentive and institutional regime.”
