First spell of showers
Thundery rain along with heavy winds was reported in many parts of the Kingdom yesterday. Forecasts said it would continue until tomorrow. Riffa was the worst among the places affected by the rain with puddles across the streets. Waterlogged roads made drivers struggle. However, no traffic accidents were reported from across the Kingdom.
Speaking to Tribune, a Riffa resident said, “Showers were really strong. I had to avoid certain roads as they were filled with water.” Several videos depicting the impact of the rain went viral yesterday. In one of the videos, a boy was seen swimming to cross a flooded road.
In another, two men were seen carrying a man in traditional Arab robes in a trolley into his car. The video was titled ‘100 fils service’ suggesting some were offering this ‘trolley service’ to residents in the area.
