Import ban on Julphar drugs
Bahrain has stopped importing all drugs produced by the Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries (Julphar). The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) has directed government departments and the main supplier of Julphar drugs to enforce the ban. In a statement issued yesterday, the authority said that the ban does not apply to Julphar drugs which are currently available in the market in Bahrain.
“The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has already temporarily suspended imports of a number of drugs produced by Julphar, over remarks related to the principles of pharmaceutical manufacturing.”
