60 tech firms from Bahrain to take part in leading expo

Manama : Sixty Information and Communications Technology (ICT) organisations including companies and government agencies are expected to be part of the Bahrain national pavilion at the GITEX Expo to be held in Dubai. The popular international ICT expo will be held in Dubai in October; dozens of companies and government entities from Bahrain are expected to take part. Thousands of people will attend the event which will be held at Dubai World Trade Center from 14th to 18th October 2018.

The organiser of the pavilion Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) said that up to 60 companies and government entities from Bahrain are expected. BTECH, in cooperation with WorkSmart, has ensured Bahraini participation at GITEX in the past 12 years. BTECH Chairman Ubaydli Ubaydli said that the continuous Bahraini participation at the event showcases the vibrancy of the ICT sector in the Kingdom.

“Through the Bahraini National Pavilion at GITEX, Bahrain’s ICT companies have kept abreast of the latest developments in the global technology sector, engaging in fruitful deals and partnerships, and exploring best ways for Bahraini companies to develop their services and products according to international standards and regional market needs,” “GITEX is a platform for the development of the ICT sector in the presence of stakeholders from the public and private sectors. This will contribute to the development of the technology sector, especially towards attracting and localising international expertise in the fields of cloud computing, large data, etc,” he added.

Ahmed Al Hujairy, CEO of WorkSmart said, “We are looking forward to continuing to work with all partners and exhibitors so that we can enhance the competitiveness of this sector locally and regionally.
