Shaikh Nasser launches “Istijaba” programme

Manama His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday launched “Istijaba” (Response) a programme designed to produce a new vigour in the sports sector of Bahrain. 

‘Response’, Shaikh Nasser, the Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, said, will create a new march for Bahraini sports as it coincides with the vision of the wise leadership for developing Kingdom’s sports sector and exploiting its great resources to advance the youth of Bahrain.

The move also falls in line with the reform project led by His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa and the vision of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister for the development of governmental sectors.

The event was held in the presence of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Bahrain Athletics Association, Royal family members, ministers, ambassadors and officials in the Kingdom.

“We view Bahraini sports in a modern way as an important industry at the current time,” said Shaikh Nasser stressing that to ensure the success of this industry and its output, “we must manage the available resources in a proper way by relying on investment opportunities and activating the marketing aspect.”

It is worth noting that HH Shaikh Nasser had issued Decree (1) for the year 2018 to form a Committee for Coordination, Implementation and Follow-up specialised in the development of youth and sports sectors. The move also resulted in signing several agreements between the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Bahrain Olympic Committee and private companies and institutions.
