Stephen Loman eager to defend bantamweight title

ManamaStephen Loman has expressed his plans to get back to action after winning the bantamweight championship in Brave Combat Federation. After an impressive first round technical knockout of Gurdashan Mangat in the main event of Brave 9: Kingdom of Champions, Loman believes he is ready for his first title defence. 

“I hope I could defend my belt by May,” said the soft spoken Loman, the first Asian, and Filipino to win a title in the Bahrain based MMA promotion. Team Lakay coach Mark Sangiao said they are still awaiting announcement from Brave, which announced its 12th event in Indonesia.

 “We heard Loman was challenged by Frans Mlambo so hopefully he could be the next opponent for Loman,” said Sangiao. 

Loman is riding high on a four fight winning streak since April 2016 including a three round unanimous decision against Mlambo in September 2016 for a 9-2 win, loss record including three knock outs and two submissions. 

Brave had announced Jakarta is set to host the twelfth edition of their MMA promotions May 11. Jakarta will be the ninth city in the world which became a venue for the Bahrain based Mixed Martial Arts promotion.
