Leadership greeted on 17th anniversary of NAC

ManamaCongratulations poured in as Bahrain celebrated yesterday the 17th Anniversary of the National Action Charter (NAC), a far-reaching document that transformed the country which was approved almost unanimously by Bahraini men and women on February 14, 2001 referendum. Several ministers and officials greeted the Leadership on the occasion. 

Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa extended heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, on the occasion. 

Shaikh Khalid said that the historic approval of the charter embodied the deep-rooted and inherent national identity of the Bahraini people who have always set a model to emulate in patriotism and dedication for the nation’s growth and prosperity.

The Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister stressed that the National Action Charter has laid sound bases for comprehensive modernisation in all field, including the justice system which witnessed quality and essential leaps and constitute one of the pillars of the Kingdom’s comprehensive development march in the prosperous era of HM the King. He also affirmed Bahrain’s ongoing reform and development march while adhering to the principles of the charter which promote the state of law and institutions.

On the occasion, Information Minister and Board of Trustees Chairman of Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi lauded Bahrain’s pioneering democratic, civilisational and development achievements brought about under the reform project of His Majesty the King. He said those accomplishments have boosted human rights and promoted the kingdom’s status as a model to emulate regionally and internationally in political and democratic reform, religious tolerance as well as sustainable and comprehensive development.

The Information Minister extended heartfelt congratulations to the Leadership as well as the government and the Bahraini people on the 17th anniversary.

HM King received a cable of congratulations from Defence Affairs Minister Lt-General Yousef bin Ahmed Al Jalahma, on the anniversary.

The defence minister hailed HM the King’s wise vision and efforts in boosting the Kingdom’s political and socio-economic leverage, wishing His Majesty lasting good health and happiness.

Constitutional Court President Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa greeted His Majesty King, on the occasion. Shaikh Khalifa hailed the Kingdom’s sound democratic atmosphere endorsed by 98.4 pc of the Bahraini people during the February 2001’s plebiscite, and established upon the rule of law in the prosperous era of His Majesty the King.

Senior state officials congratulated HRH Crown Prince on the occasion.  They pointed out that the Kingdom had made pioneering strides and become a role model to be emulated on nation-building and modernisation, thanks to the leadership of His Majesty the King. HRH Crown Prince also received congratulatory cables from Deputy Premier, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Advisor to HM the King, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, National Security Agency President, Lieutenant-General Adel bin Khalifa Al-Fadhel, and Electricity and Water Affairs Minister, Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza.
