Book on Bahrain sport launched

Manama : A book on Bahrain sport was recently launched at the Bahrain Olympic Committee premises in Seef in an attempt to promote a better lifestyle.

The event was patronized by Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and President of the BOC.

This initiative was marked by BOC’s recently announced Bahrain Olympic Academy and is in line with the directives of Shaikh Nasser in bid to make sport a lifestyle within the Bahrain community.

Shaikh Nasser said he admired the way the book was produced and commended the efforts of the team that prepared this project, led by Canadian professor and long-term planning expert Istvan Balyi.

Furthermore, Shaikh Nasser noted the importance to promote this publication and distribute it across relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to reach out to all Bahrain society and expand awareness on sport being a significant factor to improve a healthy life.

The book was presented to Shaikh Nasser by Supreme Council for Youth and Sports assistant general secretary and BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar, in the presence of Olympic Academy director Nabeel Taha and staff Dr Hussain Jaffer and Mahmood Yateem.
