Bahrain’s Grmay rides well

Manama : Bahrain’s Merida Pro Cycling Team rider, Tsgabu Grmay (four hours 47 minutes 58 seconds) raced well yesterday to finish 23rd overall on the 15th stage of the 104th Tour de France from Laissac-Severac L’Eglisle to Le Puy-En-Velay over 189.5km.

Grmay was six minutes 11 seconds behind stage winner, Dutchman Bauke Mollema (4:41:47) of Team Trek-Segafreda.

Bahrain’s ninth team member Spaniard Ion Izaguirre withdrew from the opening stage in Dusseldorf, Germany after suffering a lumbar fracture of the lower spine.

The tour takes a rest today and resumes tomorrow with the 16th stage taking the remaining (175) riders into the Alps mountain  range from Le Puy-En-Velay to Romans-Sur-Isere over 165km.
