HRH Crown Prince meets senior officials and citizens Majlis

ManamaCrown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime MinisterHRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday held official talks with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in Abu Dhabi, UAE. 

His Royal Highness also attended the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi’s Majlis.

The UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Bahrain’s Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity and Youth Affairs, President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, and a number of senior government Ministers and officials from Bahrain and the UAE attended the official talks.

Praise on historic relations

The bilateral talks addressed the historic relations between Bahrain and the UAE, as also current regional developments. 

The talks  highlighted UAE’s role in fostering friendship between the two countries and in supporting joint GCC initiatives in the region.

His Royal Highness also praised the continuing growth of relations between Bahrain and the UAE, which contributes to future developments, under the commitment and support of both His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. 

Prince Salman emphasized the importance of the role played by the UAE’s First President, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in consolidating ties between Bahrain and the UAE, and establishing a solid base of bilateral cooperation which has reached a substantial level and continues to grow. 

 

GCC spurs international presence

The Crown Prince further highlighted the late Sheikh Zayed’s pivotal role in consolidating the foundations of the GCC and uniting its leaders.

“GCC has been successful in allowing the region to establish a prominent presence on an international scale. It has emboldened its members to confront challenges, in particular those related to regional and international security,” HRH the Crown Prince noted.

 

UAE assures cooperation

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Prince Salman to the UAE and expressed his wishes for a successful visit. He hoped the visit will develop bilateral ties and strengthen cooperation that will lead to new opportunities. 

While praising historic relations between the UAE and Bahrain, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi stressed the importance of the safety and security of the GCC.

His Highness said he hoped GCC countries including the UAE are moving towards progress and development, and the unity has helped the region from instability and violence.

 

Crown Prince at Majlis

The Crown Prince and accompanying delegation attended the weekly Majlis of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Al Bahr Palace.  

During the visit His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of the values of unity and cohesion that underpin GCC relations, saying that they are factors that strengthen nationalism and loyalty.

The Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, Shaikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, and a number of senior officials and citizens also attended the Majlis. 

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi expressed his delight in His Royal Highness’ visit to the Majlis, and noted the importance of the visit as it reflects Bahrain’s commitment to furthering relations across various areas.

HRH the Crown Prince said he was delighted to meet with Abu Dhabi’s Crown Prince and senior officials from the Emirates during the Majlis visit. 

Prince Salman noted that Majlises brought together all segments of society and core traditions inherited from the forefathers. The custom however offered the opportunity to gain insight into the needs and views of citizens.

Majlises have surpassed their role as a pure social gathering by facilitating cultural seminars and lectures to exchange views and ideas regarding development.
