Twenty-four defendants will appear before the High Criminal Court on January 12 in the case of murdering two police officers in a bomb attack in Sitra this year.
The two officers were in a bus that was carrying policemen at the end of their shift at the Sitra police station when the attack occurred.
The explosion caused the death of the two officers, and six others sustained injuries. Chief prosecutor of the Terror Crimes Prosecution Ahmed Al Hammadi said in a statement that the defendants had been accused in connection with the bomb attack.
“They have been indicted for forming and operating a terrorist group against the law as well as murdering police officers, possessing explosives, detonating a bomb, training on handling weapons and bombs for terrorist purposes,” Al Hammadi added.
