Bahraini athletes welcome Brave Combat Week 2017

Manama : Bahrain’s decision to host 2017 IMMAF World Championships during the first ever Brave International Combat Week from November 12 till 19, 2017 has received overwhelming response from the athlete community in Bahrain.

“We love to welcome the initiative as this will definitely motivate and nurture future athletes,” said Atif Mohammed, Professional Mixed Martial Artist welcoming the event.

Apart from Bahraini athletes, Bahrain is also giving opportunity for athletes around the world and transforming their lives.  2017 Brave International Combat Week expects international athletes from over 60 nations to visit Bahrain. The event also marks the ninth edition of Brave.

The Kingdom has made massive victories in IMMAF Asian Open and IMMAF African Open championships. During the first year of operations Brave held 8 events all across the world. At the 2017 International Mixed Martial Arts Federation African Open Championships, Bahrain team won 2 gold and 4 silver medals. While Hamza Zrira and Abdulmanap Magomedov won gold medals, Gamzat Magomedov, Hussain Abdulla, Nayef Fikry and Ramazan Gitinov won silver medals.

“Bahrain is the focus of global attention yet again. Bahrain has achieved much during such a short span of time and the credit goes to the leadership and vision of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and the President of Bahrain Athletics Association. It will be a proud moment for us to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain,” said Hamza Kooheji, Professional Mixed Martial Artist and youth icon from Bahrain.
