Expat’s body laid to rest in Bahrain

Manama : The body of Indian expatriate who died of heart attack in his accommodation in Jidhali was cremated in Bahrain yesterday after efforts to repatriate the man’s body to his native country failed. 

P.S Santhosh Kumar (56), who hails from the Indian state of Kerala, was found dead in his accommodation on August 27. He is survived by his wife Vimala Devi and children Sumesh Santhosh Kumar (Business in Bahrain) and Sumith Santhosh Kumar (Salesman, Jotun paints, Bahrain). 

The body was cremated yesterday morning at 6:30 am at the Hindu crematorium behind Alba in the presence of his sons Sumesh and Sumith. 

The Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF) volunteers, MK Sirajudeen and Subair Kannur said their efforts to repatriate the man’s body back to his hometown, with the support of the Embassy of India, failed due to some unforeseen circumstances. 

Santhosh Kumar, an expatriate in Bahrain for the past 28 years, was running the Alahssa Auto Service in Jid Ali near Isa Town. He had also acted in Indian movies like Peruvazhiyambalam (1977) and Swany Ayyappan (1975).
