Eid Al Adha wishes

would like to extend my best wishes to the people of Bahrain for a happy Eid al-Adha and to congratulate all those performing Hajj.

Eid al-Adha is a time to honor the sacrifice, resolve, and commitment to God demonstrated by Abraham.  On this holy day, millions of Muslims around the world, including from Bahrain and the United States, join in the pilgrimage to Mecca as a testament to their faith.  During this time, Muslims also join their neighbors and friends at their local mosques, community centers, and homes to pray, give alms, exchange gifts, and recommit to helping others.

Eid al-Adha is a good time to reflect on the relationship between Bahrain and the United States.  I believe that our friendship, which was strong when I arrived here, has become even closer with the passing of each successive Eid.  I am grateful to the people of Bahrain for offering your warm friendship, both to me personally and to the people of my country, and I look forward to our partnership growing stronger in the future.

Have a wonderful holiday.  On behalf of the American people and the U.S. Embassy family, Hajj Mabrour and Eid Mubarak!
